In this lesson we will be doing a CPC test on a simple lighting circuit.

Bridge the line conductor to the protective conductor at the distribution board so as to include all the circuit. Then test between line and earth terminals at each point in the circuit. The measurement at the circuit's extremity should be recorded and is the value of (R1 + R2) for the circuit under test (see Figure 10.3.1(i)). If the instrument does not include an 'auto-null' facility, or this is not used, the resistance of the test leads should be measured and deducted from the resistance readings obtained.
